Welcome
To Our Philosophy......
"Kapiti Rest Home is our Residents' home" - we provide a safe, family based atmosphere where each of our Resident's physical, mental, cultural and spiritual needs are paramount to the Management and Staff.
Kapiti Rest Home acknowledges Te Tiriti O Waitangi in its whole philosophy of care. We believe that to be successful, our services must be holistic in approach and embrace the spiritual, mental, physical and religious aspects of our Residents’ life. We recognise the special relationship between our Residents and their family/whanau and appreciate that the principles of Partnership, Participation and Protection must underpin our services.
Partnership -working together with family, whanau, friends and external communities to ensure our Residents receive residential care services that embrace their individual needs.
Participation -involving Resident’s friends and family at all levels when we are developing and delivering our residential care services.
Protection - ensuring all our Residents enjoy the best level of health they can achieve and safeguarding cultural concepts, values and practices.
We abide by the laws of New Zealand and comply with the Ministry of Health Standards relevant to our service which are: The Health and Disability Standards, Restraint Minimization and Safe Practice and Infection Control.
Within this framework, we provide a Stage 2 Home with 29 single bedrooms for frail elderly people and one respite room. We offer full care to people who cannot manage at home but do not need hospital care.
